Abstract
The crystal structure of 3-hydroxypyridinium cation and the 2,5-dihydroxybenzoate was investigated to form salt, C5H 6NO+.C7H5O4 -. The hydrogen bonds in the crystal link the cation and anion to form a hydrogen bonded ribbon. The hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a planar molecular ribbon. The results show that the interplanar separation and the centroid offset were 3.370 (19) and 2.11 (2) Å.
