Abstract

A wideband multichannel sounder with 16 simultaneous transmit channels and 32 switched receive elements in groups of 4. The sampling and processing requirements are discussed and some preliminary results are shown. In order to have a true wide-angle system two spherical arrays will be applied. The element pattern of a dipole on sphere has been derived based on the exact solution in spherical harmonics.
