Abstract

A 39-year-old female complained of sore throat. We suspected the possibility of neoplastic, viral, or infectious diseases such as tuberculosis for the right tonsil showing rough-surfaced tumorous lesion. A biopsy specimen of the lesion revealed herpes simplex virus infection. Histological examination seemed to be useful for early diagnosis of HSV and differentiatial diagnosis.
