N2 - A 59-year-old woman had several soft cutaneous nodules on her left abdominal wall region from childhood. She presented with a 3-year history of gradual enlargement, hardening, reddening, and tenderness of these nodules. There were no other symptoms of neurofibromatosis type 1 or type 2. She only had multiple localized nodules and the clinical characteristics were congruent with segmental neurofibromatosis. Because a biopsy of the tumor revealed the complication of a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor, we performed a wide surgical excision. However, the surgically resected specimens showed various findings of schwannoma. No recurrence or distant metastasis was observed during 7 years postoperatively.
