Abstract

Kumar & Billinton presented a technique for computing the steady-state availability from flow graphs based on Markov models. However, it is difficult to derive the steady-state probabilities for large system using their method. This paper presents a simplified graphical method for deriving the formula for the steady-state probability distribution. The method is applied to deriving the steady state probabilities for some D-out-of-N:F repairable systems.
