A simulation method using state transition matrix suitable for real-time simulators

Abstract

This paper proposes a discretization method suitable for real-time simulators using Forward Euler method. Realtime simulation using Forward Euler method have the following problems. One is simulation error caused by time step limitation, and another is delay in simulated waveforms. The authors have proposed a simulation method suitable for real-time simulators, but there is a problem that physical meaning of state variable is diluted by diagnalization of system matrix. This paper proposes a simulation method to obtain the same characteristic of the previous method without the diagonalization. Some offline and real-time simulation results show validity and usefulness of the proposed simulation method.
