Abstract

After the introduction of PSA screening test started in the 2001 fiscal year in our county, 161 patients consulted Mitoyo General Hospital for prostate cencer checkup in two years (2001 and 2002 fiscal year). Among 161 patients, we found out fifty-five adenocarcinoma of the prostate and also five transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder and one inverted papilloma of the bladder. Four patients had the simultaneous double cancers (prostate and bladder). In the prostate cancer, coincidence rate of the bladder cancer was 7.27%. The rate of coincidence of the prostate and bladder cancer is thus very high in our experience or in the literatures therefore, careful observation is required when examining the patients with prostate or bladder cancer patients.
