Abstract

Complex dielectric constants of SrTiO3 ceramics and single crystals were measured in the temperature range of 303 K to 673 K and the frequency range of 100mHz to 100 kHz. It was found that the ceramic sample exhibits a steplike colossal dielectric relaxation similar to the distorted perovskite CaCu3Ti4O12, while the single crystal exhibits a relaxor-like relaxation. Both features can be explained with a heterogeneous structure model.
