Abstract
Several series of cobalt (III) complexes containing monodentate P-donor ligands were synthesized and their structures were compared. Purple prismatic crystals of [Co2(C3H6NS2)4] (C8H11O2P)2](PF6) 2 were obtained by repeated recrystallization. One of the ligands was dissociated form the cobalt (III) center and the resulting complex fragment experienced dimerization. The complex cation was found to have a crystallographically imposed C2 symmetry and a dinuclear structure.
