Abstract

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has been recently used clinically by general practitioners because of its lower radiation, high resolution, reduced incidence of metal artifacts, and lower cost compared with traditional medical computed tomography (CT). In this chapter, we will describe the clinical application of CBCT by general dental practitioners during endodontic, periodontal and dental implant treatment as well as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) assessments.
