Abstract
Recently we started computer-guided surgery with an optical-tracking navigation system (Stealth Station™) in head and neck lesions. Seven patients presenting with head and neck cancer underwent surgery under the use of this system from October 2000 to June 2003. The authors describe three cases among them and evaluate the advantages of the system for paranasal and skull base legions. Surgeons with the assistance of the system can identify the target structures in an accurate and reliable manner. The main disadvantage of the system is its high cost.
