Abstract

The Plastic Cell Architecture (PCA) is the goal of research into a dynamically reconfigurable architecture, and will provide a new basic concept for the realization of innovative information processing systems. PCA-based systems will also have the ability to adapt to changing environments. This paper describes the background and concept of the PCA, and then gives an outline of its prospects.
