Abstract

In this paper, a system design for self-practice dynamic Yoga at home is developed with instructor-user synchronization. The key points of the human skeleton of the instructor and user are estimated by OpenPose for the proposed system applications. Based on OpenPose and fuzzy theory, the proposed exercise assistant system is divided into preprocessing and system processing. In the preprocessing, the initial frame and sync frames of the instructor are selected by Euclidean distance of the key points to synchronize at the time domain between the instructor and user, and the keyframes of the instructor are also selected by Euclidean distance of the key points to compare the similarity of Yoga poses between the instructor and user. In the system processing, the angle difference information is obtained by calculating the vector and angle of each key point of the instructor and user, and the information is used as the input of the fuzzy-based scoring unit. The synchronization scheme matches the initial and sync frames of the instructor and user by the scores to synchronize at the time domain, and the scheme predicts the time point of the next matching frame. Experimental results show that the proposed system can accurately and effectively detect matching frames between the video of the instructor and that of the user for instructor-user synchronization of self-practice dynamic Yoga.
