Abstract

The pattern of relative growth in the gross product of agriculture per unit of agricultural land is examined by trend surfsace analysis and compared for the periods 1965-1970 and 1970-1975. The growth rate in southern Kyushu increased whilst that of Hokkaido has decreased. In the latter period, the overall pattern of growth reversed. High scores came to characterise the periphery and low scores the central region.-M.J.Haigh
