Abstract

AC susceptibility and magnetic balance measurements have been performed on a single crystalline CuGeO3 under high pressure up to 8 GPa and 1.1 GPa, respectively. The spin-Peierls (SP) transition temperature (TSP) increases linearly with increasing pressure at a rate of 4.8 K/GPa. Curie-Weiss fitting was made for the susceptibility above TSP. Ferromagnetic transition was observed above 4.5 GPa at around 10 K.
