Abstract

This work deals with source-channel coding in the adaptive DCT coding, in the case of binary symmetric channels. The authors proposed previously an adaptive DCT coding method using M-transform to improve source coding performances using fixed length codes. In this work, the effect of channel errors on the proposed method are evaluated. Simulation results show that the proposed method is insensitive to channel errors and able to provide good image at a bit error rate of up to 10-3, without exhaustive forward error correction.
