Abstract

This paper discusses techniques for improving the frequency utilization factor in a high-capacity land mobile communications system, the NTT-MCS-L2. A channel separation of 12. 5 kHz was confirmed to maximize the frequency utilization factor from the viewpoint of number of available channels and geographical reuse. Both improvements in tolerance against interference and geographical reuse are discussed for cases where diversity reception is adopted. An interference reduction of about 3 db was seen to be achievable through detection of interference increases and corresponding changing of radio channels to negate such increases.
