N2 - An electrically-driven permeability-controlled GaInAsP/InP optical modulator was experimentally demonstrated using Tri-gate metamaterial structure. An extinction ratio of 6.9 dB was obtained at 1550-nm wavelength with a gate swing of 2-12 V.
