Abstract
An electronic first-order gradiometer in a cylindrical magnetic shield was investigated. The planar gradiometer exhibited better noise reduction performance than the axial gradiometer inside the cylindrical magnetic shield. This improvement was attributed to the anisotropic distribution of the magnetic field inside the cylindrical magnetic shield.
