Abstract

The purpose of this study is evaluating energy consumption and the indoor thermal environment of grocery stores. In the 1st report, to imitate the energy consumption of refrigerated/frozen display cases (SCs) and their air leakage easily, detailed and simplified CFD SCs models were constructed basing on constant temperature experiments that aimed at measuring the air leakage and performance of SCs. The positive reliability of SC detailed CFD models was confirmed by comparing it with experimental results. Simplified models, which can reproduce the air interchange between SCs and outside, were built to calculate the cooling load of SCs in different conditions.
