Abstract
Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) became covered by insurance in Japan in April 2019, and the number of facilities introducing it has since been increasing. At our hospital, intracorporeal urinary diversion (ICUD) was started in June 2019 after laparoscopic total cystectomy and RARC extracorporeal urinary diversion (ECUD). In ICUD, a very long object such as the intestinal tract is treated with a magnified field of view using a laparoscope, so it is inevitable that surgery is performed without seeing the whole picture. Therefore, in the initial cases, we have concluded that there is a pitfall that everyone is likely to fall into. We hope that similar troubles can be avoided by presenting the failures we have experienced and their countermeasures.
