    Abstract

A continuous pressurization method was recently introduced. Not like conventional methods, typical running time is very much faster. To verify the applicability of continuous pressurization method, experimental verification of continuous pressurization method was performed. Stepwise pressurization and evaporation methods are used and be compared using silty sand. Stepwise pressurization method uses the ceramic disk of 1 bar to the tensiometer device. Also, the evaporation method can only measure the drying path of SWCC. The results demonstrated that the SWCC obtained by the continuous pressurization method was closer to the other method. Therefore this indicates that the newly developed continuous pressurization method can obtain a drying-wetting relationship of SWCC on unsaturated state of soils within a more practical time.
