Abstract

The de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations in RIn3 (R = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu) is studied, focusing on the topology of the Fermi surface and cyclotron effective mass. The Fermi surfaces in each RIn3 are compared to the results of the fully-relativistic linear augmented-plane wave (FLAPW) band calculations. YbIn3 is highly different from the other RIn3 because the Yb ion is divalent, in contrast to R3+ in the other RIn3.
