Abstract

High-resolution photoemission spectroscopy has been carried out for in-situ synthesized deutrated organic conductor (DMe-DCNQDI) 2Cu, where DMe-DCNQI is dimethyl-dicyanoquinonediimine, to study the metal-insulator transition due to the charge ordering. The high-resolution photoemission spectrum near EF shows a rigid shift of about 100 meV indicative of opening of a Peierls gap below the critical temperature (Tc= 60 K).
