Abstract
To clarify the mechanism of high temperature deformation of dispersion strengthened alloys, deformation has been studied with particular attention to the effect of particle diameter and spacing. The volume fraction of Al//2O//3 was between 0. 2 and 0. 8%. The crystals were tested in tension at temperatures between 823 and 923 K and in the initial strain rate range form 10** minus **5 to 10** minus **3 s** minus **1. The local climb model seems to be adequate to creep of these alloys.
