Abstract
The fracture of bioactive glass-ceramics was determined in kerosene and distilled water using short bar specimens with chevron notches. By using the stable crack growth technique, an inelastic phenomenon was observed on the diagram of load versus load-point displacement. From these results, it was suggested that the inelastic behavior of bioactive glass-ceramics was produced by the plastic deformation on the grain boundary with the glassy phase.
