Abstract
Infrared spectroscopy was used to analyze OCS-hydrogen van der Waals complexes in the region of vibrational bands. Five distinct species of the complex were observed in a pulsed supersonic jet expansion using a tunable diode laser probe. Results indicated that the band origins were red-shifted relative to the free OCS molecule. The fitted rotational parameters were found to be consistent with the structures having intermolecular separations in the range of 3.6 Å-3.8 Å.
