Abstract

Intersite screening effects on the Cu 2p photoemission spectra are discussed for chain-like and layered Cu oxide systems on the basis of Lanczos calculations for multiple Cu site clusters. A newly observed structure in Sr2CuO2Cl2 is ascribed to the result of intersite screening.
