Abstract

A 59-year-old man visited our hospital with the complaint of a painless enlarged mass in the right scrotum. CT and MRI showed an extratesticular multilocular mass, which had a clear margin and the same density or intensity as fat. With a preoperative diagnosis of liposarcoma, tumor resection and high orchiectomy were performed. Histopathological diagnosis was well- differentiated type of liposarcoma (lipoma-like type). Though we detected no metastasis, radiation therapy (45Gy) was given for local control. The patient is alive with no recurrence now, 14 months after the operation. This case was the 77th case of intrascrotal liposarcoma to be published in Japan.
