Irregularities formed by a cosmological axion field

Abstract

A cosmological axion field which was not dissipated fast enough from the early universe may lead to a gross inhomogeneity well before the present epoch. This gives a possibility of triggering galaxy formation. Further collapse is not inhibited and can produce black holes on various mass scales.
