Abstract

The Plastic Cell Architecture (PCA) is a dynamically reconfigurable architecture on which processing tasks are performed by appropriate logic modules called `objects' configured in plastic parts (PPs). In order to realize the high-performance PCA, it is very important to synthesize objects efficiently in PPs. This paper describes logic synthesis and optimization techniques suitable for Sea-of-LUTs (Look-Up Tables) based PPs. Synthesis methods for combinational circuits are described first, then placement and routing methods for sequential circuits are explained. These techniques are being developed to establish a design automation environment for the PCA.
