Abstract

We propose that shear rate γ̇ (Z) within the interface significantly increases and conformation of molecular chains will be elongated. When γ̇ (Z) becomes larger, the elongation of chains will overcome the entropic relaxation, that results in formation of the "oriented melt". Universal crystallization mechanism under shear flow is proposed that the growth rate of spherulite or shish is accelerated near the surface, that is due to formation of the oriented melt.
