Metal-insulator transition in donor-acceptor type superconductor, (BETS)2(X2TCNQ)

Abstract

We found that (BETS)2(Cl2TCNQ) becomes superconducting under pressure, showing a maximum critical temperature of 1.3K at 3.5kbar. The superconductivity disappears at higher pressures and is replaced by an insulating phase. Its isostructural complex with larger cell parameters, (BETS)2(Br2TCNQ), displays a metal-insulator transition at 13K under ambient pressure.
