Abstract

The recent development of MDCT and workstation allow the evaluation of biliary disease. This study was undertaken to estimate the ability of MDCT for biliary disease and correlate other examinations. In malignant biliary disease, it was only one case among nine cases that other diagnostic imaging was required added to MDCT. On the other hand, in benign one, it was three cases among four cases that other diagnostic imaging was required. That is, diagnosis of a malignant disease is easy and can be diagnosed on MDCT without other examinations. MinIP images using MDCT is a effective noninvasive diagnostic modality for obstructive biliary disease and provides image quality that approximates that of MRCP or ERCP.
