Abstract

We describe MRI and CT features of acute gynecologic diseases such as ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion, rupture of ovarian tumor or endometrioma, uterine bleeding, and inflammatory disease. Especially MR imaging is useful for the diagnosis of such disease because of its high sensitivity to the presence of blood. It is important to differentiate conditions that necessitate emergency treatment from noncritical diseases, and radiologists should be familiar with these imaging features.
