Abstract

We investigate multiple-Cu-site effects on Cu 2p core-level X-ray photoemission spectra (XPS) for CuO2 planar systems by means of a configuration-interaction theory combined with the Hartree-Fock approximation. We pay particular attention to the relation between the electronic structure of the ground state and the photoemission line shape. We also investigate electron-doping effects on the Cu 2p XPS.
