Abstract
Oenothein B, isolated from the leaves of Oenothera erythrosepala (Onagraceae), had host-mediated antitumor activity and antiviral effects on human immunodefficiency virus (HIV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV). It is a dimeric hydrolyzable tannin with a cyclic structure 1.
