Abstract

Orthovanadate delayed accumulation of mRNAs encoding phenylalanine ammonia-lyase and chalcone synthase in pea epicotyls induced by an elicitor from Mycosphaerella pinodes. However, accumulation of mRNA for a putative P-type ATPase was not affected. The relationshipbetween the ATPase and defense responses is discussed.
