Abstract

The change of electronic structure due to the phase transition in solid C₆₀ from face-centered-cubic to simple-cubic was observed by photoemission spectroscopy. The effect of disorder in solid C₆₀ to the electronic structure was also studied by comparing the photoemission spectra of a highly disordered C₆₀ film prepared by vapor deposition on a cold (≈20K) substrate and a single crystal C₆₀ film.
