Abstract
This paper is concerned with prediction of mechanical properties of hot rolled carbon steel sheets when the manufacturing conditions are given. By using the calculation models of structure changes during hot deformation and subsequent cooling and the relationship between hardness and the transformation temperature during cooling, hardness can be calculated. A comparison of the predicted and observed tensile strength of sheets hot rolled in a laboratory mill is reported.
