    Abstract

In cam grinding under constant rotation speed of a cam, grinding force and surface roughness become larger at position with higher speed ratio, because curvature radius of a cam changes continuously in one revolution of workpiece. In order to establish precision CNC cam grinding method, therefore it is indispensable to develop optimum rotation speed control of a workpiece. Then, cam grinding process with CNC camshaft grinder is analyzed theoretically, and horizontal travel speed setting of wheel head correspond to the rotation speed of a workpiece is made clear in this study. Furthermore, simulation analysis method is developed, and proposed unique 3 grinding techniques to control the rotation speed of a workpiece are investigated. In the methods, it is certified that fluctuations of the grinding results are reduced, and the precision cam grinding method is realized.
