Abstract
An axially symmetrical Fabry-Perot oscillator with active devices inserted in a dielectric is investigated in order to combine output powers of many more devices in the microwave and millimeter wave frequency range. The mount structure of the active devices was designed by a numerical calculation using the boundary element method. In the experiments at X-band, the oscillator operated stably when the resonator length of the Fabry-Perot resonator was varied, and almost perfect power combining of sixteen Gunn diodes was achieved.
