Abstract

We discovered a series of new superconductors, M7 Re13 X ( M = W, Mo, X = B, C ), and discussed their superconducting properties. M7 Re13 X ( M = W, Mo, X = B, C ) has a β-Mn-type (Cubic, P4 132) structure. The Tc values are 7.1 K for W7 Re13 B, 7.3 K for W7 Re13 C, 8.3 K for Mo7 Re13 B and 8.1 K for Mo7 Re13 C. The magnetization vs. magnetic field curve showed type-II superconducting behavior. These superconductors can be described as strong coupling regime and Re orbital is mainly responsible for the superconductivity of these compounds.
