The effects of localized vibration on the ability of discriminating the difference of surface roughness through tactile sense of finger tip are examined. It has been found that the localized vibration of an acceleration amplitude of more than 4 m/s**2 affects the tactile sense of finger tip, and the judgment of the roughness different becomes dispersive. In order to analyze this phenomenon, a stochastic cusp catastrophe model has been applied, and it has been demonstrated that this model can qualitatively explain this phenomenon.
