We administered neoadjuvant chemotherapy by a selective intraarterial infusion method in patients with advanced breast cancer (stage III or stage IV). this method is selective catheterization of the internal mammary, lateral thoracic, and subclavian artery via ipsilateral radial approach based on the Seldinger technique, and epirubicin is infused selectively into the tumoral artery. We have used this method in 3 cases thus far. This technique is easy and quick cannulation of the IMA through the ipsilateral radial approach, and decreased the pain or discomfort during chemotherapy. No procedural complications occurred in all 3 cases. In conclusion, compared to the femoral approach, this technique can be performed with better patient comfort.
