We are developing an operation support system for large-scale system using Information Technology. In the project, we are building a multimedia database that organizes diverse information into multimedia files and topic concepts. We are also developing case-based and model-based trouble shooting agents that automatically detect anomalies and diagnose the causes quickly. A high-throughput network provides us an environment for collaboration that allows us to work together with experts in distance. Software agents are realized by means of the Web service methods such as WSDL, and SOAP. Furthermore, the Semantic Web technology such as RDF, RDFS, OWL, and Topic Maps will be utilized for agent co-operation. This project was prepared with the contract under the Japanese IT program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Technology. In this paper, the outline of the project is described. The project is started at 2002 and foreseen to continue through 2005 fiscal year.
