A nitrogen-containing cannabinoid, 3-pentyl-4-amino-6,6,9- trimethyloxazolo-[5,4-a]-6H-dibenzopyrane (CBN-Ox), was synthesized from cannabinol (CBN) and its pharmacological activities in mice were compared with those of CBN using 3 indices of catalepsy, barbiturate synergism, and locomotor activity by intracerebroventricular injection. Pharmacological potencies of CBN-Ox were higher in cataleptogenic effect, but lower in barbiturate synergism and suppression of locomotor activity than those of CBN, suggesting that CBN-Ox may have some psychotropic activity in mice.
