抄録

Although a low relapse rate and excellent survival are expected with our surveillance policy for stage I testicular seminoma, bulky relapse may occur in those patients who do not receive a regular follow-up. In such cases, aggressive chemotherapy is required. Two cases of retroperitoneal relapse under post-orchiectomy surveillance are herein reported. One patient had a bulky relapse and received 4 courses of BEP chemotherapy followed by retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. The other patient was treated with 3 courses of BEP chemotherapy. Although our surveillance policy is acceptable for stage I seminoma, we must keep in mind that bulky relapse is possible in those cases which receive irregular follow-up.
