N2 - The electrophysiological study has revealed that, similar to cat and rat, the taste-sensitive neurons are localized ventral and dorsal to the brachium conjunctivum (BC) in the pons of the rabbit. A study using the retrograde axonal transport of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) has suggested that these neurons send axons to the thalamic taste relay nucleus and the central nucleus of the amygdala.
