(Chemical Equation Presented) The unique reactivity of silylated propargyltungsten and -molybdenum species with electrophiles provides a route to synthetically useful compounds. In the reaction with aldehydes, 1,4-dioxy-1,3-dienes or, when conducted in the presence of Et₃Al, silylated furans were generated in good yield. In reactions with enones or CO₂, allenyl silane derivatives and silylated butenolides were obtained in good yield.
